In Pageant's deferred decryption feature, you can load a key into Pageant still encrypted, and when a PuTTY tool first tries to use it, Pageant will prompt for the passphrase by displaying a dialog box (on Windows, or various alternatives on Unix).

If you do this, then close the PuTTY tool, and then finish entering the passphrase into the dialog box, then Pageant dereferences a stale pointer and crashes.
